Reformation Sunday is October 25

On this 509th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, we are preparing a festive worship service with a full liturgy using Setting 3 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. This may be new to some of you, but very familiar to others.

We will also welcome Matthew Ganong to the organ bench, who will provide various parts of the service along with our principal accompanist, Elias Blake. Matthew is a composer, pianist, harpsichordist, and organist who grew up in Columbia. He currently serves as staff pianist at USC, organizes a concert series at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, while he mostly focuses on composing, performing, and recording his own music.

All are invited to wear RED, the liturgical color of the day.

All Saints’ Day is Sunday, November 1

On this festival day, we will again use the full liturgy of ELW Setting 3 as we remember our baptism into Christ’s death and resurrection. We will also remember with thanksgiving the saints in this congregation and among our family and friends who have gone before us in faith.

All worshipers are invited to bring framed pictures of those they have loved and lost and to place them on the table provided by the Paschal candle at the baptismal font.

We will specifically recognize those in our congregation who have died since the last All Saints’ Day: Anne Meetze Addy on March 29 and Claudine Bevill Hope on June 2. Peace to their memories!

Pilgrim Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Our annual Pilgrim Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on November 22, immediately following worship.

Saturday Morning Yoga at Pilgrim

Stretch, breathe, recharge, and pray with yoga led by Sister D’Etta Broam. These welcoming sessions will include a chair/mat combination to accommodate different abilities and comfort levels.

When: Saturday at 10 a.m. (45 minutes)
Where: Pilgrim’s Fellowship Hall
Cost: $50 for a 5-session package or $12 drop-in (Venmo, cash, or check accepted at class).

Participants can reach out to Sister D’Etta directly with any questions.

The next 5 session dates are:

October 17 and 31, November 14 (Chapel) and 21, and December 5 (Chapel).

St. Nicholas Festival

Pilgrim warmly invites you and your family to our annual St. Nicholas Festival.

Join us for an evening with a special visit from St. Nicholas, festive Christmas music, a holiday market with local vendors, inflatable bounce houses, kids’ craft activities, delicious food, and wonderful community fellowship!

Children are invited to bring a can of hearty soup to support Pilgrim’s Community Food Pantry.

Every child will receive a St. Nicholas goody bag as part of the celebration.
